From late February to early March 2024, during a trip to Xishuangbanna, Yunnan, I visited the Starlight Night Market in Gaozhuang. This is the entrance to the Starlight Night Market.

Locals have a saying: "Sleep with the sun and play with the moon." This means that Xishuangbanna is tranquil during the day, slowly revealing its mysteries at night. When night falls, from Gaozhuang through Vientiane Avenue, past the Jinghong Shwedagon Pagoda, you will arrive at the Starlight Night Market located between the Shwedagon Pagoda and the Mekong River.

The Shwedagon Pagoda in Xishuangbanna (Jinghong), also known as the Shwedagon Pagoda of Myanmar, is located next to the roundabout on the Jiangbei section of Xuanwei Avenue in Cangjiang New District, Jinghong City, Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture. It is the landmark of the Xingguang Night Market.

Walk straight into the main gate of Gaozhuang Xishuangjing and you will see the iconic building here - the Shwedagon Pagoda.
