At the foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, more than ten kilometers north of Dayan Ancient Town in Lijiang, there is a village called "Wuluken" by the Naxi people. This is Yuhu Village.
1. From the village, you can see Jade Dragon Snow Mountain; under the blue sky and white clouds, Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is half grass and half snow, and the alternation of white and green appears transparent, clear and pure.
2. In the past, there was no lake here, only a few small ponds and trickling water from Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. At the end of the Yuan Dynasty and the beginning of the Ming Dynasty, the Naxi ruling family, inspired by the high mountains and clear waters and beautiful scenery, organized the construction of an artificial lake. They built a summer palace, the Jade Dragon Academy, and a deer farm on the lakeside. The clear, cool waters reflect the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, flowers, and trees, with swaying water plants and a beautiful scene etched beneath the surface. This is the famous "Jade Lake Reflections" spectacle. A stroll along the lake is a truly relaxing experience.
3. The Mu clan loves reading, especially Chinese culture, so they built the Yulong Academy at the foot of Yulong Mountain. Reading in the fairy-like environment of blue sky, white clouds, snow-capped mountains and gentle breeze is a great enjoyment. 4. The houses here are all built of stone, which is unique. The earliest residents of the village were servants serving the Mu rulers and herders who raised deer and horses. Later, some residents turned to horse caravans and lived a hard life. In recent years, driven by tourism, most villagers have opened homestays, restaurants, cafes and horse riding projects, which have greatly improved their income and improved their lives.
