Palm Springs area lodging with pickleball and bikes

We are planning for a getaway to Palm Springs area in January for about 5-7 days. We would love a resort that has pickleball and the use of bikes. Are there any like that in the area?

Thanks,

Marilyn

If you’re planning a 5- to 7-day getaway in the Palm Springs area in January and want a resort that offers both pickleball and bikes, you’re in luck — the Coachella Valley has several excellent options. Here are a few resorts that stand out for meeting both criteria (pickleball courts + bike availability) and what you should watch for when making your choice.

Top resort options:

  • (Cathedral City) — This resort explicitly mentions a pickleball court for guests and “cruiser bikes” available to check out.
  • (Palm Springs) — This boutique resort mentions “activities like pickleball and tennis, water volleyball, spikeball, … bikes” in its amenities list.
  • (Palm Desert) — Includes outdoor pickleball courts (among other facilities) and is part of a large resort complex.

What to check and compare:

  • How many pickleball courts there are, whether they’re shared or reserved for resort guests, and if there are any extra fees or specific time slots for families.
  • Whether bike use is free or limited, how many bikes, what type (cruiser, mountain, e-bike) and where you can ride them (on-site trails, resort grounds, or linking to the CV Link multi-use path).
  • The pool and other amenities — since January is cooler, but still lovely in Palm Springs, you’ll want a resort with a heated pool or sun-soaked lounging areas and ideally a pool that’s family-friendly.
  • Proximity to restaurants and shops if you want to walk out for meals or coffee without driving everywhere.

Recommendation: Given your timeframe and interests, The Paloma Resort stands out as a strong choice because it specifically mentions both pickleball and cruiser bikes and is in the Palm Springs/Coachella Valley area — so you’ll have good access to walking/biking and resort amenities. If you prefer to stay closer to downtown Palm Springs proper, Casa Palma offers boutique charm and also meets your key criteria. The JW Marriott Desert Springs is a larger resort option with great amenities if you don’t mind being slightly more resort-spread rather than walkable to shops.

In short: yes — there are resorts in the Palm Springs area that tick both boxes (pickleball + bikes) and January is an excellent time to go. Choose based on how close you want to be to shops/restaurants vs. how resort-focused your stay will be.
