Chair and Umbrella Rental on the Beach

Hello Beach Friends,

My family will be traveling (flying) to Sarasota late next week. We know nothing about Siesta Key as we previously vacationed in the Ft. Myers/Sanibel area. We are renting a house but it doesn't have beach chairs or umbrellas, unless a previous guest has left them. We would like to rent beach loungers and umbrellas for the day on Siesta Key. I have found Siesta Key Beach Chairs online, located just north of Beach Access 12, and that would probably work. But I am concerned about parking near 12 if we don't get there early enough. Are there rentals at Public Beach, Access 11? We would really like to be near the playground, and it looks like there is a lot of parking available at the Public Beach. Or, are there any other places on Siesta Key that rent and set up chairs and umbrellas for you for the day? We may only be going to the beach for a couple of our days, so we don't really want to purchase these items.

Thanks!

Siesta Key is well known for its beautiful white sand beaches and family-friendly atmosphere, and renting beach chairs and umbrellas is quite common for visitors who don’t want to haul their own gear. You are correct that Siesta Key Beach Chairs, located just north of Beach Access 12, is one of the more established rental services. They provide setup and breakdown for the day, making it convenient if you don’t want to worry about carrying equipment.

Regarding Public Beach Access 11, there are indeed chair and umbrella rentals available there as well, and it tends to have more parking options. Being closer to the playground, Access 11 is more convenient if you are bringing kids and want to be near the amenities like restrooms and picnic areas.

Other rental options on Siesta Key include services that deliver and set up right on the sand at various access points:

  • Siesta Key Beach Rentals: They provide daily rentals of umbrellas, loungers, and even cabanas. They can deliver to Access 11 or other nearby public beach areas.
  • Siesta Beach Equipment Rentals: Another local company offering daily chair and umbrella service, often willing to set up near specific areas like the playground at Access 11.
  • Siesta Key Beach Chair Service: Offers similar delivery and setup at multiple access points, with flexible hours so you don’t need to arrive early to secure a prime spot.

Tips for your visit:

  • Parking at Access 11 is more plentiful than at Access 12, but it can still fill up quickly during peak times. Arriving before 10 AM is recommended, especially on weekends.
  • Many rental companies allow you to reserve chairs and umbrellas in advance, which guarantees your spot and avoids disappointment.
  • Daily rentals typically include setup and takedown, and some companies even provide small extras like coolers or beach toys for kids.
  • If you only plan to go to the beach a couple of days, renting is definitely more convenient than purchasing, and local vendors are used to accommodating short-term visitors.

In summary, both Access 11 and Access 12 have reliable rental services, but for convenience near the playground and easier parking, Access 11 may be your best choice. Booking in advance with one of the local rental services will make your beach day smooth and stress-free.
