Hi,
I am going to hong kong for a business trip. And i want to take my wife as well. Our PAR is cleared. But there is one problem, that the hotel booking is in my name only and for a single person. As it was done by my employer.
I have mailed the hotel and they are okay to have my wife stay with me. But i am afraid that my wife does not have any hotel reservation in her name. So will that be a problem at the immigration. in her PAR she has written the address of my hotel.
Please help. I fly on saturday.
For your wife traveling to Hong Kong with you, the key point is that the hotel has confirmed she can stay with you. Hong Kong immigration mainly requires that travelers have a place to stay and the relevant entry permits, rather than a hotel reservation in their own name.
Since your wife’s Pre-Arrival Registration (PAR) lists the hotel address where she will stay, this should generally be sufficient for immigration purposes. It is common for spouses or family members to stay at the same hotel under one reservation, as long as the hotel is aware and allows it.
Here are some practical suggestions to avoid any issues:
It is unlikely that immigration will deny entry just because your wife’s name is not on the hotel booking, given the hotel’s confirmation. The most important thing is to show that she has a legal place to stay in Hong Kong.
In summary, as long as the hotel allows her to stay and her PAR lists the hotel address, there should be no problem at immigration. Carry all supporting documents just in case they ask for clarification.
