Place of birth

I have put POB as DELHI in PAR form but it is DELHI, DELHI in passport. Is this an error. What shall I do as I have successfully got the PAR

If you have successfully obtained your Pre-Arrival Registration (PAR) for Hong Kong but the place of birth (POB) on the form does not exactly match what is on your passport, it is generally not considered a major issue for most travelers. Hong Kong Immigration tends to be flexible, especially if the discrepancy is minor, such as omitting the district or repeating the city name.

Here are some points to consider:

  • The PAR is primarily used to pre-clear your arrival and verify identity. Minor differences in formatting (e.g., "DELHI" vs "DELHI, DELHI") are often overlooked.
  • Immigration officers at the border will have your passport details, which take precedence over the PAR form if there is any confusion.
  • It is recommended to carry your passport and a copy of your PAR when traveling, so any questions can be clarified quickly.

If you want to be extra cautious:

  • You could contact the Hong Kong Immigration Department to inform them of the minor discrepancy. Usually, this is not necessary if the difference is as small as in your case.
  • Keep a note or printout explaining the minor variation, just in case an officer asks.

In summary, with the PAR already issued, this small difference is unlikely to cause a problem, but having documentation ready can provide peace of mind.
