It looks like there have been some significant changes in the restaurant scene on Maui recently, especially around Maalaea and South Maui. Here's an update on what's happening in the area:
Tante’s at Maalaea: Tante's has been sold, and new ownership is taking over soon. This spot has been a staple in Maalaea for years, so it will be interesting to see what the new owners have in store for the restaurant. Stay tuned for more updates on their menu and changes after the transition.
Havens in Maalaea: The old Beach Bums location in Maalaea will soon be home to a new restaurant called Havens. While details are still sparse, it will be a welcome addition to the Maalaea dining scene. Keep an eye out for its opening and any menu previews once it's up and running.
Tikihau in Wailea Village: Tikihau has officially opened in Wailea Village, which is great news for Wailea visitors looking for something fresh. Expect to find some unique flavors and a great atmosphere at this new location. It's definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.
Kohola Brewery in Wailea Village: Coming soon to Wailea Village is Kohola Brewery, expanding from their Lahaina location. This is exciting news for craft beer lovers, as Kohola has built a solid reputation on the island. They’re expected to open in either late December or February, so keep an eye out for their grand opening.
Sushi Paradise in Kihei: Unfortunately, Sushi Paradise in Kihei has closed permanently. This is a significant loss for Kihei sushi lovers, as Sushi Paradise was known for its fresh and delicious offerings. It's always sad to see beloved local spots close, but we hope that something equally exciting will take its place in the future.
As always, the dining scene in Maui is constantly evolving, with new spots opening and old favorites closing. It's always good to stay updated, and we encourage everyone to continue supporting local businesses while exploring these new options. Enjoy your meals and live aloha!
