Parking at GA aquarium

If I visit the aquarium in the morning, can I park there and leave (walk) to visit something else and come back to retrieve my vehicle? Is this allowed? I’ve already prepaid for parking.

Yes, you can generally do this at the Georgia Aquarium, but there are a few details to keep in mind.

The aquarium’s parking is operated through its own lots or nearby garages that allow for entry and exit during the day. If you have already prepaid for parking, your ticket typically allows you to leave and return later, as long as you are within the valid hours of the day or time window purchased.

Here are some important points:

  • Keep your parking ticket with you at all times. You’ll need it to re-enter the parking lot when you return.
  • Check the time limits. Some prepaid tickets are for a full day, while others may have stricter time restrictions. Most standard aquarium parking passes are valid for the entire day, so walking around downtown Atlanta and returning should be fine.
  • Use the same entry lane when you return, if required. Some garages may have specific procedures for re-entry.
  • Be aware of special events or peak times. On busy days, re-entry is usually fine, but the garage may fill up, so allow extra time to park if needed.

Many visitors park at the aquarium and then walk to nearby attractions such as Centennial Olympic Park, CNN Center, or World of Coca-Cola, returning to their car without issues.

If in doubt, check with the parking attendant when you first arrive—they can confirm any re-entry rules specific to your lot and the type of prepaid pass you have.
