HK Visit/Tourist Visa - Change in Travel Dates 2024
Hello all,
I have a indian passport and my PAR was unsuccessful so i have applied for Visit Visa with intend travel dates & flight itenerary tickets but did not get any response so cancelled my intended flight tickets after 4 weeks got another email asking for additional documents which i have shared along with the new travel dates ( new flight tickets ) again it took almost 2 weeks ( had to cancel this flight tickets too because of the delay )
Finally after 6th week got the visa approval for 7 days visit visa valid upto 3 months.
Now i am travelling on a different from the itenerary provided (flight tickets submittee during visa application ) during the visa process. Will this be a problem during immigration.
In your situation, travelling to Hong Kong on different flight dates than those submitted during the visa application is generally acceptable, as long as your Visit Visa is valid at the time of entry.
Key points to consider:
- The Hong Kong Visit Visa you received is valid for 3 months from the date of issue. You can enter Hong Kong anytime within this validity period, regardless of the original flight dates you provided.
- Immigration officials mainly check that your visa is valid, your passport is in order, and that you meet entry requirements. They do not usually enforce the original itinerary submitted during visa application.
- It is advisable to carry supporting documents such as your visa approval email or letter, proof of onward travel (your new flight tickets), and hotel accommodation details, in case immigration asks for clarification.
Additional tips:
- Ensure that your visit duration does not exceed the 7 days granted by the visa.
- Be prepared to answer basic questions about your purpose of visit, accommodation, and return plans; honesty and clarity will help smooth the process.
- No penalty or issue arises solely because your travel dates changed, as long as your visa is valid and you comply with its conditions.
Summary:
- You can safely travel on your new flight dates.
- Carry proof of your valid visa, new flight tickets, and accommodation details.
- Immigration checks are routine; changing dates is not a problem.
In conclusion, your change in travel dates should not cause any issues at Hong Kong immigration as long as you enter within the visa validity and comply with its terms.
