How to get to HK City Sightseeing Bus
Hello
I have a 15 hrs lay over in Hong kong and I am planning to take the HK City sighseeing bus tour. Can someone kindly let me know how to get to HK city bus stop from the airport? Is this is a bad choice, you can recommend any other options. I am open for suggestions.
Your Help is greatly appreciated.
If you have a 15-hour layover in Hong Kong, taking the HK City Sightseeing Bus is a convenient way to see the city without worrying about navigation. The main hop-on hop-off bus route covers major attractions in Hong Kong Island and Kowloon.
To get from Hong Kong International Airport to the City Sightseeing Bus stops, you have several options:
- Airport Express + Taxi: Take the Airport Express train from the airport to Hong Kong Station (approx. 24 minutes). From there, the City Sightseeing Bus stop is just outside the station at the Central area, and you can walk or take a short taxi ride to the exact boarding point.
- Airport Bus + Walk/Taxi: Take one of the Cityflyer buses (A11, A21) to Central or Tsim Sha Tsui. From these locations, the City Sightseeing Bus stops are nearby and easily accessible on foot or by a short taxi ride.
- Taxi/Private Transfer: If you prefer a direct route, a taxi from the airport to Central or Tsim Sha Tsui takes about 30–40 minutes depending on traffic. This can save time and is convenient if you are tight on schedule.
Other options during your layover, in case you find the sightseeing bus less appealing, include:
- Victoria Peak Tram: Take the Peak Tram from Central for stunning city views. You can combine this with a short walk in Central and Admiralty.
- Star Ferry: A classic 10-minute ferry ride between Tsim Sha Tsui and Central, providing iconic skyline views.
- Quick Kowloon Tour: Visit the Avenue of Stars and Tsim Sha Tsui promenade for a brief cultural and photographic experience.
Remember to allow enough time to return to the airport, go through security, and board your next flight. Ideally, you should leave the city at least 2–3 hours before your flight.
