Hong Kong visa process for Sri Lankan

Dear all,

I want to process Hong Kong e visa. I am UAE resident and Sri Lankan passport holder. I already booked my tickets on 31st MAY. I have all documents. Is it okay to apply by self or through agency ? And how long does it take to get it approved? I am indeed to get a visa before 31st May I am very depressed. Please help me. Regarding my concern.

As a Sri Lankan passport holder residing in the UAE, you can apply for a Hong Kong e-Visa (also known as an electronic visa or pre-arrival registration) on your own or through a visa agency. Both methods are valid, but applying by yourself is straightforward and avoids extra service fees charged by agencies.

Here are the key points to consider:

  • Self-application: You can apply through the official Hong Kong Immigration Department website. Ensure you have all required documents ready, such as a valid passport, confirmed flight tickets, and proof of accommodation.
  • Agency application: If you prefer guidance or want to reduce the risk of errors, a registered visa agency can assist. This may cost extra, but it can be helpful if you are anxious about completing the application correctly.
  • Processing time: Typically, Hong Kong e-Visa applications are processed within 4 to 7 working days. Sometimes, urgent applications can be processed faster, but there is no official expedited service, so applying as soon as possible is strongly recommended.
  • Travel considerations: Since your flight is on 31st May, make sure you submit your application immediately to allow enough time for approval. Keep in mind weekends and public holidays can add delays.

In summary, applying yourself is perfectly fine if you carefully follow the instructions. Use an agency only if you feel more comfortable with professional assistance. The key is to apply as early as possible to ensure you have your visa before your departure.

  • Check that your passport is valid for at least six months from your travel date.
  • Have all supporting documents ready, including flight bookings and hotel confirmations.
  • Keep copies of your application and confirmation emails until your travel.

Act quickly to avoid last-minute stress, and you should be able to receive your e-Visa in time for your trip.
