Broncos vs browns football getaway

My buddy and I are heading to Denver Saturday morning for the Monday night football game on Dec 2. Flying out Tuesday late morning.

Would love some advice on the following:

Where and what hotel to stay at? Budget not an issue. Clean, comfy and walking distance to places of interests or eats/drinks. Don’t plan on renting a car if we don’t have to.

Places of interest to check out while in the area.

Must try restaurants.

Must try bars.

We are mid 40s and like to do stuff that the area is known for. My friend doesn’t snowboard unfortunately but maybe snowmobiling would be fun. Thanks in advance

For a football getaway in Denver with the Broncos vs. Browns game on a Monday night, and a short stay from Saturday morning to Tuesday late morning, staying downtown is your best option. Denver’s downtown area is walkable, has plenty of restaurants and bars, and offers easy access to the stadium via ride-share or light rail.

Hotel Recommendations:

  • The Crawford Hotel – Located in Union Station, central to restaurants, bars, and shopping. Beautiful historic building with modern amenities and easy access to the stadium via ride-share.
  • Four Seasons Hotel Denver – Luxury option, comfortable rooms, downtown location, walking distance to Larimer Square and other attractions.
  • Kimpton Hotel Born – Stylish boutique hotel near the ballpark district, close to the stadium, with complimentary bike rentals and a lively lobby bar.
  • Renaissance Denver Downtown City Center – Modern hotel with rooftop lounge, convenient for both downtown exploring and getting to the stadium.

Places of Interest While in Denver:

  • Union Station – Iconic historic station with shops, restaurants, and bars.
  • Larimer Square – Historic district with boutiques, dining, and nightlife.
  • 16th Street Mall – Pedestrian promenade lined with shops, cafes, and entertainment.
  • Coors Field – Even if not attending a baseball game, you can tour the stadium.
  • Denver Art Museum & Clyfford Still Museum – Great options if interested in culture and art.

Must-Try Restaurants:

  • Guard and Grace – Upscale steakhouse downtown.
  • Fruition Restaurant – Seasonal, locally sourced dishes.
  • Root Down – Creative American cuisine, casual but trendy.
  • El Five – Tapas with panoramic city views.
  • Sushi Den – Famous local sushi spot if you enjoy seafood.

Must-Try Bars:

  • The Cooper Lounge – Inside Union Station, great for cocktails and city views.
  • Williams & Graham – Speakeasy-style, excellent cocktails.
  • Death & Co. – Trendy cocktail bar with creative drinks.
  • Jagged Mountain Craft Brewery – Local craft beer option.

Stadium Access:

  • For the Broncos game at Empower Field at Mile High, downtown ride-share or taxi is the easiest method. Walking is possible from nearby hotels but may take 20–30 minutes depending on the location.
  • Public transit like light rail and buses are available but may be slower and crowded during game day.

Other Activities:

  • Snowmobiling – Accessible within a couple of hours from Denver in the Rockies; day tours are available if you’re looking for a short winter adventure.
  • Downtown brewery tours – Denver is famous for craft beer, so a brewery crawl can be fun and accessible without a car.

Overall, staying downtown maximizes convenience for dining, nightlife, and game access, while also letting you enjoy a bit of Denver’s unique culture and scenery.
