Different towns in area - where to stay - advice please

Question

As we are searching for a VRBO vacation home and making our lodging decisions, we are trying to get a feel for the different towns in the area.

What is your general take on these:

Blue Ridge

Mineral Bluff

McCaysville

Ellijay

Morganton

Cherry Log

Epworth

We’re looking for any feedback and general feel for these areas. Some might be so close to one another that it wouldn’t matter, but we wonder the pros/cons of each.

We look forward to visiting the cute downtown of Blue Ridge, doing some hiking, soaking in the scenery of the area, and maybe do some apple picking.

Our hearts are with those who have suffered from the hurricane last week in western NC, and hope everyone is okay in GA.
