Choosing hotel please

We are coming to denver from the UK. staying in denver we would like ur reviews on the two hotels we chosen. the first is the hyatt centric downtown denver. the other one is embassy suites by hilton downtown convention centre. which one is safest and best one please. We are seniors,we love architecture and history. We have 2 trips booked to the mountains. Thanks

Both the Hyatt Centric Downtown Denver and Embassy Suites by Hilton Downtown Convention Center are solid choices for senior travelers, offering different experiences in terms of style, amenities, and location. Safety in downtown Denver is generally reasonable in well-traveled areas, but it’s always smart to stay aware of your surroundings, especially at night.

Here’s a breakdown of each hotel:

  • Hyatt Centric Downtown Denver

This is a modern, stylish hotel located in the heart of downtown. It has clean, contemporary rooms and good on-site dining. Being centrally located, it’s within walking distance of historic architecture like Union Station, the historic LoDo (Lower Downtown) district, and the 16th Street Mall. The area tends to have a lively atmosphere and is well-patrolled, but as with any urban downtown, keep an eye out for typical city activity after dark.

  • Embassy Suites by Hilton Downtown Convention Center

This hotel is slightly larger and more traditional in design. It offers spacious two-room suites, which can be very comfortable for seniors, especially if you want a sitting area separate from the bedroom. It’s close to the Colorado Convention Center and also near LoDo, museums, and historic sites. Embassy Suites typically provides complimentary breakfast and evening receptions, which can be convenient. The area is safe, with similar considerations for urban travel.

Key considerations for your decision:

  • Hyatt Centric offers a more modern, boutique feel with easy access to downtown walking areas and historical sites, ideal if you enjoy architecture and a more “urban explorer” vibe.
  • Embassy Suites offers larger rooms, amenities like breakfast and evening receptions, and is slightly more comfortable for longer stays, especially if you value space and traditional hotel features.
  • Both hotels are in safe downtown areas but remain alert in any city center. Stick to well-lit streets, avoid alleys, and use hotel staff guidance for walking at night.

Given your interests in architecture and history, Hyatt Centric might appeal more for its proximity to historic downtown landmarks and its boutique style. However, if comfort, spacious suites, and convenience with meals are more important, Embassy Suites is an excellent choice. Either way, you will have easy access to your planned mountain trips and other Denver attractions.
