Hello - I am going to miami mid feb. I have stayed at the W hotel before, and a couple others. This time deciding between the nautilus vs kimpton surf comber - love a lux hotel and a great beach with beach setup. which of the two do you recommend pls? either traveling solo or with 1 friend (no kids)
Both the Nautilus and the Kimpton Surfcomber are excellent choices for a luxury Miami Beach experience, but they offer slightly different vibes and amenities, so the best choice depends on your priorities.
The Nautilus is a boutique-style, adults-friendly hotel that emphasizes a relaxed, upscale, and quieter atmosphere. It has spacious rooms with retro-modern design, excellent service, and a private, more exclusive beach area. The vibe is sophisticated and low-key, perfect if you’re looking to unwind, enjoy a luxury stay, and have a peaceful beach setup. The hotel also has a highly rated restaurant and a full-service spa.
The Kimpton Surfcomber, on the other hand, is more lively and social, with a modern, stylish design. It has a larger pool area with a fun, active vibe and daily social events that attract younger crowds. The beach setup is well-maintained, and the hotel is known for being more energetic and engaging, with easy access to nightlife and South Beach attractions. It also has a pet-friendly policy and great dining options, though the rooms are slightly smaller than the Nautilus.
Considering your travel scenario—solo or with a friend, no kids—you might enjoy the Nautilus if your focus is relaxation and luxury, or the Surfcomber if you want a fun, social beach atmosphere. Neither will disappoint, but the choice comes down to quiet luxury vs. social energy.
