I will be traveling from sedona to page (antelope canyon) on day 1 and then want to spend day 2 at grand canyon before traveling back to sedona. Can someone recommendation a hotel and must see sites along with which entrances to go park to use to get in and out

For a short trip from Sedona to Page (Antelope Canyon) and then the Grand Canyon, planning your route and accommodations carefully will maximize your time at each location.

Day 1: Sedona to Page (Antelope Canyon)

  • Drive from Sedona to Page takes approximately 4–4.5 hours via US-89 N. Plan to leave early in the morning to have time for sightseeing in Page.
  • In Page, the main attraction is Antelope Canyon. Book your tour in advance, either Upper or Lower Antelope Canyon. Both offer unique slot canyon experiences, but Upper is easier to walk and photograph.
  • Other attractions in Page include Horseshoe Bend and Lake Powell viewpoints if you have extra time.
  • Recommended hotel for the night in Page: Best Western Plus at Lake Powell, or Courtyard by Marriott Page for comfort and convenience close to Antelope Canyon.

Day 2: Page to Grand Canyon

  • Drive from Page to Grand Canyon South Rim (Grand Canyon Village area) is approximately 2.5–3 hours via US-89 S and AZ-64 W.
  • Enter through the East Entrance (Desert View) if coming from Page; this allows you to drive along Desert View Drive with multiple scenic viewpoints along the way.
  • Recommended must-see sites along Desert View Drive include:
    • Desert View Watchtower – panoramic views of the Colorado River
    • Grandview Point – short walk, great view of the canyon
    • Moran Point – excellent photography spot
  • Within Grand Canyon Village:
    • Mather Point – iconic viewpoint near visitor center
    • Yavapai Point & Museum – panoramic views and exhibits
    • Bright Angel Trail – optional short walk to the first resthouse for those who want a bit of canyon hiking
  • For your return to Sedona, exiting via South Entrance near Grand Canyon Village will connect you to US-89 S for a smoother drive back.

Hotel Recommendations near Grand Canyon (optional if staying overnight):

  • El Tovar Hotel – historic lodge within Grand Canyon Village
  • Bright Angel Lodge – convenient and moderately priced, right at the rim
  • Tusayan hotels – such as Best Western Premier Grand Canyon Squire Inn, if you prefer modern amenities outside the park

This plan allows you to see the highlights of Antelope Canyon and the South Rim of the Grand Canyon in two days, with convenient entrances and scenic viewpoints without backtracking unnecessarily.
