Yavapai Lodge East or West?

Hello

I am planning to book at Yavapai Lodge and wanted to know which section the rooms have been recently renovated between the east and west side.

Thanks

Yavapai Lodge, located inside Grand Canyon National Park, has two main sections: East and West. Both sections offer similar amenities, including a restaurant, gift shop, and easy access to the park shuttle system and trails along the South Rim. However, there are differences in room condition and renovation status that can influence your choice.

Recent updates and guest reports indicate that:

  • East Section: Most of the rooms on the East side have undergone recent renovations. These rooms typically feature refreshed interiors, new carpets, updated furniture, and modernized bathrooms. Many guests report the East side rooms feel more updated and comfortable.
  • West Section: The West side rooms have seen less extensive renovations. While some cosmetic updates have been made, many rooms retain older décor, fixtures, and bathroom layouts. Guests often note that the West side can feel slightly dated compared to the East side.

Additional considerations when choosing between East and West:

  • The East side is closer to the main lodge amenities such as the restaurant and general store.
  • The West side may offer a bit more separation from the main lodge area, which some visitors find quieter, especially in peak season.
  • Both sides have easy access to the free park shuttle, so transportation to viewpoints is convenient from either location.

In summary, if having a recently renovated room is a priority, the East side of Yavapai Lodge is generally the better choice. If you prefer a quieter location and don’t mind older interiors, the West side may be suitable.
