May/June trip

Well me and my better half Mrs monkey ,are now looking at things to do for our next holiday.

We are mulling over,

One the las vegas aces match on the 30th May.

We land around 12.30 that day so this is a lot earlier than we usually do.earliest we've landed before is 4ish and my time we'd got the room it's early evening.

On this we've done a aces match before and enjoyed it ,after the match thinking a couple of cocktails in sky fall lounge( a quick question would you book skyfall or just wing it on the night)

Other ideas are trying c.d.s mystere and popping down to herb and rye for happy hour one day, might go on to fremont afterwards.

Looking at magic show ,we did shin lim last trip, so looking for another entertaining show.

Any suggestions welcome

I love the planning side, wife tells me I over do it.

Oh just to mention stopping at vdara for 7 nights.

Sounds like you're planning a fantastic trip! You've got some great ideas already, and with a seven-night stay at Vdara, you'll have plenty of time to enjoy everything Las Vegas has to offer. Here's my take on your plans and some additional suggestions:

First, landing at 12:30 PM gives you a good chunk of the day to start exploring, so it’s great to have the Aces game on your radar for May 30th. Since you’ve enjoyed the game before, it’s a solid choice. It’s also great that you're thinking about cocktails at Skyfall Lounge afterwards. As for booking Skyfall, I’d recommend making a reservation, especially if you’re planning to go on a busy night. It’s a popular spot with stunning views, so securing a spot in advance ensures you won’t be left disappointed. However, if you're flexible, you could also wing it, but expect a potential wait, particularly around sunset time.

As for the other plans:

  • Herb and Rye Happy Hour: Excellent choice! Their happy hour offers fantastic deals, and it’s one of the best places in town for cocktails and small bites. Afterward, Fremont Street would be a fun option to explore, especially if you want to experience the classic Vegas vibe and some quirky entertainment.
  • C.D.S Mystère: Definitely a great show to consider if you're in the mood for Cirque du Soleil. The performance is vibrant, acrobatic, and full of visual spectacle. It's a good mix of art and entertainment, with something for everyone to enjoy.
  • Magic Show: If you’re looking for another magic show and you enjoyed Shin Lim, I’d recommend David Copperfield at the MGM Grand. His show is a classic, and he’s a master at blending storytelling with mind-bending illusions. Another option to consider is Mat Franco at The LINQ, who adds a fresh, comedic twist to magic and is highly entertaining.

Since you're staying at Vdara, you're in a prime spot to explore both the Strip and nearby spots:

  • Top of the World at The STRAT: If you’re looking for a breathtaking view while enjoying a meal or cocktail, the Top of the World restaurant is a great option. It’s one of the best places to catch stunning views of the city, especially at night.
  • Explore Off-Strip: Check out some off-strip locations like the Neon Museum, or take a drive out to Red Rock Canyon for a bit of nature and hiking. The scenery is beautiful, and it's a nice change of pace from the neon lights of the Strip.
  • Resorts World: A newer property with a cool vibe and tons of restaurants and bars. It’s worth checking out, and they often have live entertainment and events. You might want to pop by for a drink or check out some live performances.

In terms of shows, it sounds like you’re open to different options, so I'd also suggest looking into these:

  • Le Rêve – The Dream at Wynn: An awe-inspiring aquatic show that combines acrobatics, dance, and water. It’s widely regarded as one of the best shows in Las Vegas.
  • The Beatles LOVE by Cirque du Soleil: If you haven't seen it, LOVE is a visually stunning tribute to the music of The Beatles. It’s energetic, artistic, and a hit for music lovers.
  • Matt Franco: Magic Reinvented: Another great magic option with an engaging and humorous style.

If you’re looking for something unique, I’d also recommend O by Cirque du Soleil at the Bellagio for its incredible water performances. It’s quite a spectacle and definitely worth seeing if you enjoy visual shows.

In terms of overall planning, don't worry about overdoing it – it sounds like you're really excited to experience everything, which is awesome! Just leave room for spontaneity, too. Sometimes the best Vegas experiences come from unexpected moments!

Enjoy your trip, and happy planning!
