Tai Tak Cruise Terminal - City sightseeing buses
Hi
Visiting HK for a couple of days on a cruise ship berthed at Tai Tak Cruise Terminal.
First visit to HK so wish to do a city sightseeing tour eg hop on hop off
Where is the best place to go from the cruise terminal to catch these buses?
Any recommendations much appreciated. Thanks
Tai Tak Cruise Terminal is located in Kowloon, relatively far from the main tourist hubs, so getting to a convenient hop-on hop-off (HOHO) bus stop requires a short transfer. There is no HOHO bus stop directly at the cruise terminal itself.
Here’s how you can access city sightseeing buses from Tai Tak:
- Taxi or ride-hailing: The simplest way is to take a taxi or an Uber from the cruise terminal to the nearest HOHO bus stops. Popular HOHO routes include stops near Tsim Sha Tsui (near the Star Ferry and Victoria Harbour), Central, or Causeway Bay. Taxi rides usually take 20–30 minutes depending on traffic.
- Airport Express / MTR: Walk or take a short taxi ride to Kowloon Station or East Tsim Sha Tsui Station. From there, you can reach the HOHO bus routes or pick up a bus at Tsim Sha Tsui, which is one of the main starting points for the buses.
- Shuttle Services: Some cruise lines offer shuttle buses from Tai Tak to Tsim Sha Tsui or Central. If your cruise offers this service, it can save time and is convenient for catching HOHO buses.
Recommended HOHO bus operators and main stops:
- Big Bus Tours: Starts at Tsim Sha Tsui near the Cultural Centre. Offers routes covering Kowloon, Central, and Hong Kong Island highlights.
- City Sightseeing Hong Kong: Also has routes starting at Tsim Sha Tsui, including Stanley, Aberdeen, and Victoria Peak routes.
- Tour Tips: Buy tickets online in advance to save time. Start early in the day to maximize sightseeing and consider using a 24-hour pass.
Summary: From Tai Tak Cruise Terminal, take a taxi or shuttle to Tsim Sha Tsui or Central, where you can easily catch a hop-on hop-off bus and explore the city conveniently.
