Help with more planning

Hi, I appreciate any help. 2 questions.

1.) My husband and I are staying at the Wyndham Bayfront on Harbor Drive. Are there any breakfast places within 4 blocks that serves your basic eggs and bacon, omelets, French toast etc.? A nice cafe?

2.) About what would it cost for a Lyft from the Wyndham to the SD Zoo one way about 8:30am?

Thanks!

San Diego’s Harbor Drive area near the Wyndham Bayfront has several good breakfast options within walking distance, and Lyft fares to the zoo are fairly predictable in the morning.

Breakfast / cafes within ~4 blocks of Wyndham Bayfront:

  • Breakfast Republic Gaslamp: Casual breakfast spot with classic eggs, omelets, French toast, pancakes. About a 10-minute walk.
  • Herringbone Gaslamp: Upscale seafood-focused restaurant with breakfast options including eggs and toast; more of a sit-down experience.
  • Café 222: Famous for breakfast and brunch, including French toast and hearty omelets, roughly a 15-minute walk along Harbor Drive.
  • The Mission Café: Known for healthy and hearty breakfast options with classic dishes like eggs and bacon; roughly a 10–15 minute drive but easy Uber/Lyft if you prefer not to walk.

Most of these are casual to mid-range and family-friendly, with sit-down service and coffee available.

Lyft fare estimate from Wyndham Bayfront to San Diego Zoo (~8:30 a.m.):

  • Distance: ~4–5 miles depending on route, 15–20 minutes drive.
  • Estimated cost: $12–$18 one way for a standard Lyft, slightly higher if using Lyft XL for more passengers or during surge pricing.
  • Tip: Morning traffic can add a few minutes; booking a Lyft a few minutes ahead should get you a ride quickly.

Summary: You have several good breakfast cafes within a short walk of your hotel, and a Lyft to the zoo in the morning should be affordable and convenient. Arriving around opening time at the zoo (~9 a.m.) will help avoid heavier crowds.
