US sports in early May and somewhere to watch Soccer?
So, going on a guys trip to Vegas 5th to 12th May this year.
Q1: Going to book daybeds or similar at Stadium swim @ Circa on one of our days and wondering if there will be any US major sporting events on at that time for us to aim for?
Q2: The English Premiership football (soccer) season concludes its final matches starting at 7am Vegas time on 10th May (this is a Saturday). Any recommendations where we could go at this early hour to see this and enjoy breakfast or even just drinks?
TIA folks.
Andy
Sounds like an exciting guys' trip to Vegas! Let’s break down your two questions and get you all set up for your time there:
Q1: US Major Sports in Early May
In early May, there will be a few major US sports events to check out during your stay. Here are some highlights:
- NBA Playoffs: The NBA Playoffs will be in full swing during your trip. Games will be happening throughout early May, so if you're into basketball, you’ll have some great matchups to catch. The games are typically scheduled in the evenings, so they would be a good fit for your day at Stadium Swim at Circa.
- NHL Playoffs: The Stanley Cup Playoffs will also be underway. NHL playoff games often start in the evening, which could work well with your poolside plans. If you're a hockey fan, keep an eye out for those games!
- MLB Baseball: The MLB regular season will be in full swing in early May, and most of the major leagues teams will have games. If you're into baseball, check out local Vegas sports bars that show games, like The D or a similar spot. You might even catch a game at the nearby stadiums in other parts of the country if you're staying at places that stream them.
Q2: Watching the English Premier League on 10th May
Since the final matches of the English Premier League season will kick off early at 7am Vegas time on May 10th, here are some spots where you can catch the action along with breakfast or drinks:
- Downtown Vegas Sports Bars: A couple of places downtown will likely show the early morning soccer matches. You could head to Beer Park at Paris, which has tons of TVs, or PT’s Pub in the area for a great breakfast with drinks while watching the soccer. Both spots are friendly for early-morning sports viewing and a casual atmosphere.
- Lagasse's Stadium at The Palazzo: Known for its massive screen and luxury seating, this is a prime spot to watch soccer and enjoy brunch or breakfast. It's a bit more upscale, with a great selection of drinks and food to fuel your early start!
- The Sporting House at New York-New York: Another excellent spot for early morning sports events. This sports bar is open early, has a laid-back atmosphere, and serves up food and drinks while showing all the major global sporting events.
- The William Hill Sportsbook at The Cosmopolitan: If you're looking for an actual sportsbook experience, this spot will likely show the Premier League matches as well. They serve breakfast and drinks, and you can enjoy the game in a more immersive setting.
Make sure to check the specific bar or restaurant hours ahead of time, as some might open earlier for big events like the Premier League finale.
Enjoy your trip to Vegas, and have a great time at the pool and watching the sports!
