Looking for advice as to where to stay in tarpon springs. We are coming into Tampa off a cruise and plan to stay in Tarpon Springs for 4 nights before flying home. We have spent many years staying on a regular basis in and around St Petes/beach and want to try somewhere else. Not awfully keen on Clearwater, and we like the 'greekness' of Tarpon Springs.

We plan to rent self catering accommodation. We have only ever visited this area, and wonder which is the nicest part to stay in. There does seem to be many choices, spread about the local area. As well as suggestions where to stay, also suggestions where to avoid would be welcome.

We will have a car and plan to visit some old haunts around St Pete's but want to be based somewhere different. Any suggestions gratefully received.
