Orlando in your late 50,s

My wife are a 3 month tour around of the USA and we want to visit orlando we are in late 50,s but enjoy the Theme parks. My question is how long to stay in orlando we would like to do all the theme parks not worried about the water parks we will take rest days as well. At the moment we are planning from the 12 October for 24 nights but im not sure if this is to much or not enough for people of our age with no kids.

regards

Visiting Orlando in your late 50s without kids can be a fantastic experience, and planning 24 nights gives you plenty of flexibility to enjoy theme parks at a comfortable pace while including rest days and exploring other attractions.

For first-time visitors wanting to experience all the main theme parks (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, and Volcano Bay if interested), you can structure your trip so that you aren’t rushing and still enjoy the parks fully.

  • Magic Kingdom: At least 1-2 days to enjoy parades, fireworks, and classic rides.
  • Epcot: 1-2 days, especially if you want to explore both Future World and World Showcase at a leisurely pace.
  • Hollywood Studios: 1 day is usually sufficient, focusing on shows, rides, and the Star Wars / Toy Story areas.
  • Animal Kingdom: 1 day, including Pandora – The World of Avatar. Consider a slower pace for walking and shows.
  • Universal Studios & Islands of Adventure: 2-3 days combined, especially if you want to enjoy Harry Potter attractions and other rides without rushing.

With your age and preference for taking breaks, a typical schedule might look like:

  • Visit 1 park per day with rest days in between.
  • Use rest days to explore other attractions, shopping, dining, or short excursions outside the parks (e.g., Winter Park, Lake Eola, ICON Park).
  • Consider staying on-site at Disney or Universal hotels for easier park access and extra convenience, even for adults without kids.

Given this approach, 24 nights is ample, maybe even generous, depending on your pace. It allows time for park hopping, enjoying meals, shows, and spontaneous activities without feeling rushed. You might even split some days for half-days in parks and half-days for exploring Orlando’s cultural or scenic attractions.

Ultimately, you can comfortably enjoy all main parks in about 10-12 days, leaving the remaining time for rest, shopping, dining, and exploring nearby areas at a relaxed pace, which suits a long vacation in your late 50s perfectly.
