Adero or Scottsdale Plaza?

We will be in Scottsdale in mid March. This is our first time to Arizona. We are looking at either the Adero or Scottsdale Plaza. We are interested in the pool and tennis court and exploring the town. Which would you choose?

Both Adero Scottsdale and Scottsdale Plaza Resort are excellent choices for a mid-March stay, but they cater slightly differently to guests depending on what you want from your trip.

Adero Scottsdale:

Adero is a newer, boutique-style resort with a modern, luxurious feel. The property emphasizes sleek design, high-end amenities, and a more intimate atmosphere. The pool area is stylish and often less crowded than larger resorts. Tennis courts are available, and the resort occasionally offers clinics or lessons. Because of its smaller size, service tends to feel more personalized. It’s located near the Old Town Scottsdale area, making it convenient to explore galleries, shops, and restaurants on foot or with a short drive.

Scottsdale Plaza Resort:

Scottsdale Plaza is a classic, larger resort with extensive grounds, multiple pools, and more sports facilities including tennis courts. The atmosphere is lively and family-friendly, with spacious public areas and options for more structured activities. The pools are large and great for relaxation, but they may be busier due to the size of the property. It is slightly farther from Old Town Scottsdale compared to Adero, so driving or a short rideshare trip is needed to explore the town.

Key considerations:

  • If you prefer a modern, intimate resort with easier walking access to restaurants and galleries in Old Town, Adero is a better choice.
  • If you want a larger property with more pool options, tennis courts, and a traditional resort feel, Scottsdale Plaza may be preferable.
  • For mid-March, both resorts will have pleasant weather for outdoor activities, pool lounging, and tennis.
  • Proximity to Old Town: Adero is slightly closer for easy walking; Scottsdale Plaza requires a short drive or rideshare.
  • Atmosphere: Adero is boutique-luxury and quiet, Scottsdale Plaza is spacious, classic, and more activity-oriented.

Overall, if your priority is exploring Scottsdale on foot, enjoying a stylish pool area, and a more intimate experience, Adero Scottsdale is likely the better fit. If you prefer a larger resort with multiple pool options, sports facilities, and don’t mind a short drive into town, Scottsdale Plaza works very well.
