Visa for China 2025

Hello I have read there is no longer an appointment system at the London Chinese visa centre. Can anyone confirm this please. Is it now based on a first come first served?

As of November 2025, the Chinese Visa Application Service Center (CVASC) in London has transitioned to a walk-in system for visa application submissions. This change means that applicants are no longer required to schedule an appointment in advance. Instead, you can visit the center during its operating hours, submit your documents, and receive a queue number upon arrival. The processing time at the center is typically efficient, with many applicants reporting that the entire process takes less than two hours.

However, it's important to note that while appointments are not necessary for document submission, the application process itself must still be initiated online. Applicants are required to complete the China Online Visa Application (COVA) form, upload necessary documents, and print the confirmation letter. This confirmation letter, along with your passport, is required for submission at the visa center. It's advisable to check the official CVASC website for the most current information and any specific requirements related to your visa type.

In summary, the London CVASC now operates on a walk-in basis for visa application submissions, eliminating the need for prior appointments. Ensure that you complete the online application process and bring all necessary documents to facilitate a smooth submission.
