Driving from Long beach to Dodgers Stadium on Monday night.

Hi, I will be staying Long Beach CA for the conference I attend

During stay, I would like to go to see the game at Dodgers stadium on Monday night...

I will have a rental car while I was there in Long Beach.

I am a bit nerves because I never visited baseball game or Stadium with car since I live in NYC,

all I can access by subway... and I will go by myself...

so I need to buy a parking ticket in advance ? or I can just buy on the day of ? It would be a big traffic on the game night ??? there are GA($35) and up to $80 parking ticket... $80 is a bit too much.... and if you pay $80, you can park better spot close to the gate or something ??

Any advise could be helpful...

Thank you

Driving from Long Beach to Dodger Stadium on a Monday night can be manageable, but there are a few things to keep in mind to make your trip smoother, especially if this is your first baseball game experience in LA with a car.

Parking tickets:

  • It’s highly recommended to buy your parking ticket in advance. Dodgers Stadium parking can sell out, particularly for popular games or night games, and having a pre-purchased ticket will guarantee your spot.
  • General Admission (GA) parking is cheaper, around $35, but these lots are farther from the stadium entrances. It will require a longer walk, so allow extra time before and after the game.
  • Premium lots ($80+) offer spots closer to the gates, which can save time and make exiting after the game easier. If convenience is a priority, this may be worth it, but GA is perfectly fine if you don’t mind a short walk.

Traffic considerations:

  • Traffic around Dodger Stadium can be heavy starting 1–1.5 hours before the game and immediately after. Expect delays if you’re arriving from Long Beach, which is roughly 25–30 miles away depending on your route.
  • Plan to leave Long Beach at least 2–2.5 hours before the game to account for traffic and time to park.
  • Using a navigation app like Google Maps or Waze can help you adjust your route based on real-time traffic.

Other tips:

  • Have your parking confirmation ready on your phone if you pre-purchase. Some lots accept cash, but electronic tickets are more reliable.
  • If you prefer not to drive in LA traffic, rideshare options like Uber or Lyft from Long Beach are available, though it can be more expensive and might take longer with surge pricing on game night.
  • Consider wearing comfortable shoes since GA parking may involve a longer walk uphill to the stadium entrances.

In summary, buying a parking ticket in advance is the safest choice. GA parking works fine if you’re okay with walking a bit, but the $80 premium spots provide convenience and quicker entry/exit. Leave early from Long Beach to avoid getting stuck in heavy traffic and enjoy your first Dodgers game!
