As someone who grew up in the DC area, visiting the Cherry Blossoms today, I feel compelled to share this reminder.
If you are going to buy something from the food trucks, and the price isn't posted, ask before you buy.
I witnessed people buy 4 ice cream cones and a slushee, came out to like $75 dollars, $20 per cone and $15 for the slushee.
The next guy ordered a slushee, didn't ask the price, gave them a $20 expecting it to be $15 too cause he heard the guy list off the prices for the previous order after they asked, nope, for him it was $20.
If you're visiting Washington DC, especially during high-traffic events like the Cherry Blossom Festival, it's important to be aware of pricing from street vendors and food trucks. In summary, while street vendors in DC offer a fun and convenient way to enjoy local treats, vigilance about pricing ensures you don’t spend much more than expected. Asking first is always the safest approach.
