Super 8 or Best Western Country Lane

When we arrive in Juneau at the end of May, we're staying 2 nights at Best Western Country Lane, going to Glacier Bay for 2 nights, then going back to Juneau for 2 nights. I currently have reservations for Super 8 for the last 2 nights, but I keep seeing great reviews of Country Lane, plus I like the shuttle service to downtown that (I think) Country Lane offers.

Should I keep my reservations for Suoer 8? Or is Best Western so good that we should stay there all 4 nights?

Both Super 8 and Best Western Country Lane in Juneau have their merits, but based on your preferences and the context of your trip, Best Western Country Lane is generally considered the better choice for a few reasons.

First, the Best Western Country Lane offers a higher overall guest satisfaction and more consistent amenities compared to Super 8. Reviews often highlight comfortable beds, clean rooms, and a quieter environment, which can be especially appreciated after a long day exploring Glacier Bay or downtown Juneau.

Some additional advantages of staying at Country Lane include:

  • Complimentary shuttle service to downtown Juneau, which can save you parking hassles and make exploring the city easier.
  • More spacious and modern rooms in general, with better upkeep and comfort for multiple nights.
  • Free breakfast, which is consistently well-reviewed and convenient for starting early days of sightseeing or excursions.

Super 8 is certainly adequate, and many travelers are satisfied, but it is more of a budget option and may not provide the same level of comfort, especially for consecutive nights in the same city. Since you already enjoy Best Western Country Lane and appreciate its shuttle service, there is little downside to consolidating all your Juneau stays there.

Considerations:

  • If your Super 8 reservation is non-refundable or significantly cheaper, it may be worth keeping, but for convenience and comfort, Country Lane is preferable.
  • Staying all four nights at Country Lane eliminates the need to pack and move between hotels, which is especially nice when traveling with luggage and after active excursions.
  • Access to the shuttle service for the entirety of your Juneau stay is a big advantage for exploring downtown without worrying about taxis or parking.

In summary, for comfort, convenience, and a stress-free experience, moving all your Juneau nights to Best Western Country Lane is likely the better option, especially if you value shuttle access and consistent quality over strictly saving a few dollars.
