Transportation from airport
We(my husband I)are flying into Anchorage the 10th of June. We have our tickets to the Park Connection bus to Seward for 3:00. My question is: what's the best way to travel from the airport to the bus Connection at the Dena'ina Center?
Getting from Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ANC) to the Dena'ina Center for your 3:00 PM Park Connection bus to Seward is fairly straightforward. Since you’re traveling as a couple, you have a few convenient options depending on your budget and preferences.
Here are the main options:
- Taxi: Taxis are available outside the baggage claim area. The ride to downtown Anchorage and the Dena'ina Center takes about 15–20 minutes depending on traffic. Expect to pay roughly $25–$35.
- Rideshare (Uber/Lyft): Both services operate at ANC. Pickup areas are clearly marked. Prices are similar to taxis but may be slightly lower depending on surge pricing. Travel time is about 15–20 minutes.
- Shuttle service: Some hotels and independent shuttle companies offer airport-to-downtown transfers. Check if your provider can take you directly to the Dena'ina Center. Costs vary but are usually $20–$30 per person.
- Public transportation: Anchorage public buses (People Mover) do operate from the airport, but routes are indirect and could take 45–60 minutes, requiring a transfer. Not recommended if you’re trying to catch a scheduled bus.
Tips:
- Allow at least 30–45 minutes from landing to account for luggage pickup and getting to your chosen transport.
- Make sure to confirm your Park Connection ticket time and aim to arrive at least 15 minutes early at the Dena'ina Center.
- If you have luggage, taxis or rideshares are more comfortable and convenient than public transport.
In summary, for a smooth and stress-free transfer, the easiest options are taxi or rideshare. Both are quick, reliable, and will get you directly to the Dena'ina Center in time for your 3:00 PM departure.
