Hello everyone ! I'm going to China this summer, and I was looking for a SIM Card option for both Hong Kong and Macao, as I will spend 2 days in both SAR. I'll need a SIM Card with enough data for both cities and for 4 days. However, it seems difficult to find one, I stumbled upon the CSL mobile option that offers prepaid SIM Card for tourists in Hong Kong and Macau, but there's no information whatsoever about where to buy it, there's no option to buy it online. Here's the link of the offer just in case : https://www.hkcsl.com/en/new-hk-tourist-prepaid-sim/
If someone can help me find a great offer for a Hong Kong and Macau prepaid SIM Card, I would be grateful. Especially since I will arrive from Shenzhen, at the Hong Kong Kowloon West Station, and I don't know if there are SIM shops there (even though it's very likely there are). Thanks by advance !
Finding a SIM card that works seamlessly in both Hong Kong and Macau for a short stay can be a little tricky, but there are several practical solutions. Since you’ll be arriving from Shenzhen at Hong Kong’s West Kowloon Station, you’ll have convenient access to multiple telecom counters and convenience stores that sell prepaid SIM cards suitable for your trip.
The good news is that several Hong Kong telecom providers, such as CSL, China Mobile Hong Kong, and 3HK, offer tourist SIM cards that include roaming data usable in both Hong Kong and Macau. These cards are easy to purchase once you arrive and do not require online pre-orders.
Here are the most reliable options for your needs:
At Hong Kong West Kowloon Station, you’ll find:
If you prefer to prepare in advance, you can also order Hong Kong–Macau SIMs online via travel platforms like Klook or KKday, which allow pickup at the West Kowloon Station or your hotel. These are legitimate and activated instantly when inserted into your phone.
For your 4-day trip, any of these Hong Kong SIM cards with regional coverage will provide sufficient data for messaging, navigation, and social media. A 5GB plan is typically more than enough for moderate use over several days.
In summary:
This approach ensures that you’ll have full connectivity in both Hong Kong and Macau without hassle, and you’ll be ready to explore both regions immediately after arrival.
