BEWARE! Google, Apple, and other major trip routing apps are reportedly telling people that I-17 between Phoenix and Flagstaff is closed and that they must detour through Wickenburg or Payson. Per the Arizona Department of Transportation, THIS IS NOT THE CASE! A flex lane detour has been implemented near Black Canyon City, which allows motorists to easily bypass the construction zone. I-17 remains open and passable, with slight delays possible depending on traffic and other factors.
