Grocery stores

We are headed to Orlando shortly for a 2 week stay in a villa. Hoping to keep the costs down by doing some grocery shopping for breakfast/lunch/snacks especially with kids who eat on the hour every hour, ,maybe BBQ some evenings too. We are staying in kissimmee where is best to go for grocery’s when we arrive?

Thank you so much!

For a 2-week stay in a villa in Kissimmee, doing your own grocery shopping is a great way to save money, especially with kids who snack frequently and the option to BBQ some evenings. Kissimmee has plenty of grocery options, including large chains, discount stores, and specialty shops.

Major Grocery Chains:

  • Walmart Supercenter – Widely available in Kissimmee, offers groceries, snacks, drinks, and household items at competitive prices. Many locations are open 24 hours, which is convenient for late arrivals.
  • Publix – Florida’s popular grocery chain with high-quality produce, bakery items, and ready-made meals. Locations in Kissimmee are very convenient, though typically not open 24 hours.
  • Target – Some Target stores include a grocery section. It’s convenient for combined shopping (groceries plus household or personal items).
  • ALDI – Great for budget-conscious shopping. Known for lower prices and simple store layout. Limited selection of brands, but good for staples and snacks.

Specialty/Other Options:

  • Trader Joe’s – About a 15–20 minute drive from Kissimmee. Offers unique snacks, prepared meals, and organic products.
  • Local Farmers Markets – Kissimmee has weekly farmers markets for fresh produce, baked goods, and local snacks. Great for a morning stroll and picking up fresh fruits.
  • Costco/Sam’s Club – If you have a membership, buying in bulk can save money for a two-week stay, especially for snacks, drinks, and meats for BBQs.

Tips for Grocery Shopping in Kissimmee:

  • Make a shopping plan before arrival so you can hit the nearest store quickly and stock up for the first few days.
  • Check store hours – some chains may have reduced hours on Sundays.
  • Consider bringing a cooler for your villa, especially if you plan to BBQ or store snacks for kids.
  • Use grocery delivery or pickup services (Walmart, Publix, Target) if you prefer to avoid shopping with kids right after travel.

Overall, Walmart or Publix are usually the most convenient options when you first arrive. ALDI is great for keeping your budget in check, and specialty stores or farmers markets can add variety during your stay.
