Walmart and Target in Anaheim

Hello everyone!

Counting down the days now until our Mother-Daughter trip to USA (incl. 3 nights in Anaheim). We are spending two days at Disneyland/DCA and will have quite a few hours to spare the day before our first Disney day. My 15 year old girl would like to visit a Walmart and a Target, and I'm thinking it might be a good idea to purchase some Disney merchandise a little cheaper than on site for presents to bring back home. I have read that the Walmart at Euclid Street has a fantastic Disney section, would that be true of all Walmarts in the area or just specifically that one? And I can see there is a Target nearby so that might work.

Would be grateful if there are tips for a better option! We will be using public transport from our accommodation (King's Inn on Katella Ave).

Thank you very much

Visiting Walmart and Target in Anaheim is a smart idea if you want to pick up Disney merchandise at a lower price than the park shops. The Walmart on Euclid Street is indeed well-known for having a large Disney section, especially for apparel, toys, and small souvenirs. However, not all Walmarts in Anaheim carry the same selection, so if your goal is Disney items, this location is often recommended by locals and visitors alike.

Here are some tips for visiting Walmart and Target in Anaheim:

  • Walmart Euclid Street: Known for a robust Disney section. You can find t-shirts, small plush toys, mugs, and character-themed items. It’s a popular spot for Disney shoppers, especially those looking for gifts on a budget.
  • Target: The Target near Disneyland (on South Harbor Blvd) also carries Disney merchandise, though selection may vary. They often have exclusive apparel and seasonal items.
  • Other Walmart locations: Most have some Disney items, but generally not as extensive as Euclid Street. If you want the best variety, stick with the Euclid store.

Additional tips for your trip:

  • Public transport options: From King’s Inn on Katella Avenue, you can use the Anaheim Resort Transit (ART) buses, which have routes connecting Disneyland area to nearby shopping centers, though check schedules carefully as they can be limited before park opening hours.
  • Timing: Try to visit early in the day or late afternoon to avoid crowds, especially if you are purchasing gifts for your Disney days.
  • Consider combining trips: If you want variety, you could do Walmart first and then Target, or vice versa, depending on location and transport convenience.
  • Check online inventory: Both Walmart and Target websites allow you to check store stock for specific Disney items, which can save time.

Overall, the Euclid Street Walmart is your best bet for Disney merchandise, but Target can complement your shopping, especially for clothing or items that Walmart doesn’t carry. Using ART buses is feasible but plan ahead to make the most of your time before your first Disney day.
