Downtown/ Midtown Hotels

We’re a retired couple planning a 4 night stay in Sacramento. We like being able to walk to restaurants, etc. and are interested in the history and museums. We are not late night partiers so would be on the streets evenings, not at 11 or midnight. I’m looking at the Residence Inn across from Capitol Park. We’ve had great luck with these hotels in other US cities Is it a reasonably safe area? It looks like there are lots of interesting restaurants nearby. We know all cities have their homeless issues but I don’t want to be stepping over sleeping bodies on the doorstep? Thanks!

The Residence Inn across from Capitol Park in downtown Sacramento is a very convenient choice for a short stay focused on history, museums, and dining.
