Macau airport to Zhuhai
Hi guys! need some help here. On Sunday, we are landing in Macau airport at 6pm with 3 young kids, age 7. 5. 2. Would like to head straight to Zhuhai. Been advised to go to Hengqin port since it is less busy.
Q1. Are we able to head Hengqin port via cab? There are 6 of us in total with 2 big luggages and 1 pram, so we will need 2 cab.
Q2. Is it true that there are shuttle bus to Chimelong Hengqin bay hotel? If so, we would like to stay near hengqin port for a night and take the shuttle bus to Chimelong Hengqin bay hotel the next morning. Do you think this is a good idea? In case you wonder why we dont straight check into Chimelong - there is no vacancy already till the next day.
Any advice or better suggestion is welcome and appreciated!!
TIA
Traveling from Macau Airport to Zhuhai, especially with young children and luggage, is manageable, but it’s important to plan carefully due to border crossing and transportation logistics.
Regarding your first question about heading to Hengqin Port via cab:
- Yes, you can take a taxi from Macau Airport to Hengqin Port. The ride is approximately 30–40 minutes depending on traffic.
- Since you have 6 people, 2 big suitcases, and a pram, it’s correct that you would likely need 2 taxis unless you can arrange a larger van (some Macau taxi companies offer 6–8 seat vans, but booking in advance is recommended).
- Be prepared for possible delays at the Macau–Zhuhai border, as all passengers need to go through immigration and customs.
Regarding shuttle buses to Chimelong Hengqin Bay Hotel:
- Yes, Chimelong Hengqin Bay Hotel provides shuttle services from Hengqin Port, but schedules can vary. It’s recommended to check the latest timetable on the hotel website or contact them directly.
- Staying near Hengqin Port for a night is a reasonable idea, especially since your children may be tired after the flight and you cannot check in to Chimelong immediately.
- Options for accommodation near Hengqin Port include budget hotels or serviced apartments within walking distance or a short taxi ride to the port.
Other tips and suggestions:
- If possible, pre-book a taxi or van that can accommodate all luggage and passengers; this will save time and stress after landing.
- Have passports and any required visas ready for the border crossing; children also need documentation.
- Consider checking the shuttle schedule to Chimelong Bay Hotel ahead of time to ensure it aligns with your arrival time the next morning.
- Bring snacks, water, and entertainment for the kids, as waiting at the port or hotel might take some time.
Overall, your plan to land at Macau, stay near Hengqin Port, and take the shuttle to Chimelong the next day is practical and suitable for traveling with young children.
