Hongkong Stay Suggestions

We are planning to travel in mid October for 4 days.

Since we are travelling with a 2 year old, we might be cooking few times during the stay. We are looking for rooms with kitchen facility . Any suggestions for aparthotel or serviced apartments.

I found Two MacDonnell Road to have kitchen facilities. How is it.

Being our first international trip with a toddler, suggestions would be helpful.

Traveling to Hong Kong with a toddler and planning to cook during your stay makes serviced apartments or aparthotels a very practical choice. Rooms with kitchen facilities allow you to prepare meals and store snacks, which can make your trip more comfortable and flexible.

Two MacDonnell Road Serviced Apartments is generally well-regarded. It offers kitchen facilities in the units, and the location is convenient, situated on Hong Kong Island with relatively easy access to Central and Admiralty. Being a quieter residential area, it may also be more comfortable for a toddler compared to the busier areas.

  • Pros: Spacious units, kitchen facilities, quieter neighborhood, suitable for families with young children.
  • Cons: Not in the busiest shopping or dining areas; may require short taxi or MTR rides to major attractions.

Other serviced apartment options in Hong Kong that are family-friendly and offer kitchens include:

  • The Murray Residences – Central, modern apartments with kitchenettes, good for families, easy access to Central MTR and Star Ferry.
  • Ovolo Central – Offers studio and apartment-style rooms with kitchen facilities, centrally located, child-friendly amenities.
  • Somerset Victoria Park – Located in Causeway Bay, offers larger apartments with kitchens, close to shopping and parks suitable for children.
  • Shama Central – Modern serviced apartments with full kitchens, convenient location near MTR, suitable for families.

Tips for traveling with a toddler in Hong Kong:

  • Consider proximity to an MTR station for easy transport, especially with luggage and a stroller.
  • Check if the apartment provides baby cots or high chairs; some places require advance request.
  • Keep in mind that Hong Kong streets can be hilly and crowded, so a lightweight stroller is recommended.
  • Look for supermarkets nearby where you can buy ingredients and baby necessities.

Overall, Two MacDonnell Road is a good choice if you prioritize quieter surroundings and a full kitchen. For easier access to attractions and shopping, apartments in Central or Causeway Bay might be slightly more convenient, though potentially busier.
