How to arrange 2 or 3 night stay in Disneyland hotels?
Im travelling with 3 kids (age 6-10) with my spouse. I plan spend 2 full days at Disneyland.
What is the best way to insert in a 2 or 3 night stay in the Disneyland hotel, without too much hassle? My spouse feels it's quite troublesome to make an extra trip to hotel to pick up the luggage due to "unknowns" factors (he prefers relaxing/ stress free). We don't prefer to stay all nights in Disneyland due to cost and food limitation (want to enjoy food in town).
How is my itinerary?
Fri/ Day 1
Arrival into HK, check in to Cityview TST, Visit Harbour/ or Big Bus
Sat/ Day 2
Go Ocean Park
Sun/ Day 3
Check out of Cityview TST, and leave luggage with Concierge. And arrive at Disney Hotel earlier to leave luggage with Disney Hotel Concierge, then head to Disneyland and return to Disney hotel at the end of the day
Mon/ Day 4
Go Disneyland again
Tue / Day 5
Check out of Disney hotel and leave luggage there with concierge. Visit Big Buddha and return to take luggage from Disney hotel in the afternoon, and transfer to Cityview
Wed / Day 6 - Free & Easy (Peak Tram)
Thu / Day 7 - Departure to Airport for Home (Flight 16:00)
Thanks for all the suggestions/ advice.
Your proposed itinerary for Hong Kong with Disneyland is well thought out and balances convenience, cost, and enjoyment for your family. The main challenge is managing luggage and hotel stays without adding stress, especially with young children.
Here is a detailed assessment and some suggestions:
- Day 1 (Fri) - Arrival and Tsim Sha Tsui stay: Checking in at Cityview TST and visiting the Harbour or taking the Big Bus is a practical choice. Staying in TST gives easy access to restaurants and city attractions, and is cost-effective compared to Disneyland hotels.
- Day 2 (Sat) - Ocean Park: Staying in TST allows easy access to Ocean Park using taxi or MTR. Consider starting early to maximize time at Ocean Park.
- Day 3 (Sun) - Moving to Disney Hotel: Leaving luggage with Cityview Concierge and then moving to Disney Hotel before entering the park is a good approach. Disney Hotel offers luggage storage if arriving before check-in, so you can go straight to Disneyland without worrying about your bags. Returning to the hotel at the end of the day is convenient for rest and meals.
- Day 4 (Mon) - Disneyland: Staying at the Disney Hotel for the full day allows for early park entry and easy breaks back in the hotel, which is stress-free for your children.
- Day 5 (Tue) - Checking out and visiting Big Buddha: Leaving luggage at Disney Hotel concierge while visiting Big Buddha is practical. You could also consider storing luggage at a convenient MTR station near Ngong Ping to reduce back-and-forth travel.
- Day 6 (Wed) - Free & Easy: Staying in TST again gives flexibility for city exploration such as the Peak Tram and shopping without the higher cost of Disneyland hotel rooms.
- Day 7 (Thu) - Departure: Transfer from Cityview to the airport is straightforward.
Additional tips for a smooth experience:
- Book Disney Hotel early, as rooms during peak periods fill quickly. Check for packages that include early park access.
- Use hotel concierge for luggage handling to avoid extra trips back and forth.
- Consider hotel luggage delivery services (some hotels offer this for a fee) if you want to avoid carrying bags between hotels.
- Plan meals in advance; Disney hotels have their own restaurants but also nearby options, so you can balance variety and cost.
- For days at Disneyland, take advantage of the hotel’s shuttle service to the park to save time and reduce walking.
Overall, your itinerary effectively balances staying in TST for city convenience and Disney Hotel for full Disneyland experience. The approach of dropping luggage at hotels and using concierge service minimizes stress and keeps your days flexible for sightseeing and relaxing.
