Hi all,
Is there a preferred room (area) we want to ask for at John Muir Lodge? And if so, is there a way to request ahead of time?
Thanks
John Muir Lodge, located within Sequoia National Park, offers convenient accommodations for visitors exploring the Giant Forest and surrounding areas. While all rooms are designed for comfort, some guests have preferences based on noise, accessibility, and view.
In general, guests seeking quieter rooms often request those located away from main hallways, elevators, or common areas such as the lobby and dining area. Rooms on higher floors or at the ends of hallways tend to experience less foot traffic and are preferred by those seeking tranquility.
If you prefer a room with better access to amenities or easier mobility, ask for a room closer to the lobby or elevators, which may reduce walking, especially if you have heavy luggage or limited mobility.
To request a specific room or location, contact the lodge directly after booking. While room assignment is not guaranteed, the staff generally note preferences and will accommodate whenever possible. It’s best to provide your request well in advance, ideally at the time of reservation or shortly thereafter, and confirm again a few days before your arrival.
Additionally, booking during off-peak periods may give you a better chance of obtaining your preferred room, as the lodge is less crowded and staff have more flexibility in room assignments.
