Passport Stamp
Hi All,
My itinerary is as follows:
Brunei to Hong Kong to Guangzhou to Shenzhen to Hong Kong to Brunei
So I am wondering how many passport stamp required for the overall trip because I have limited passport page.
For your itinerary, you will encounter several border controls, and each may involve a passport stamp depending on the type of entry and transit. Here's a breakdown:
1. Brunei → Hong Kong
- Hong Kong has its own immigration. As a visitor, you will receive a Hong Kong entry stamp on arrival.
2. Hong Kong → Guangzhou
- Traveling from Hong Kong to Mainland China (Guangzhou) requires clearing Mainland China immigration. You will receive a China entry stamp (or visa endorsement if applicable).
3. Guangzhou → Shenzhen
- If you are traveling entirely within Mainland China, this is a domestic transfer. No passport stamp is issued.
4. Shenzhen → Hong Kong
- Exiting Mainland China at Shenzhen immigration will give you a China exit stamp.
- Entering Hong Kong will give you a Hong Kong entry stamp again.
5. Hong Kong → Brunei
- Exiting Hong Kong will give you a Hong Kong exit stamp.
- Entering Brunei will give you a Brunei entry stamp.
Summary of stamps required:
- Hong Kong entry (1)
- China entry at Guangzhou (1)
- China exit at Shenzhen (1)
- Hong Kong entry (again) (1)
- Hong Kong exit (1)
- Brunei entry (1)
Note:
- Domestic travel within Mainland China (Guangzhou → Shenzhen) does not require a passport stamp.
- Some travelers use e-channel or automated gates in Hong Kong and China, which may not always stamp the passport, but you should not rely on this for visa tracking purposes.
So in total, you are looking at 6 passport stamps for the full trip if all standard manual stamps are given.
