Transport to Honda Centre and Crypto Arena
Hi there.
We will be in LA late November, staying at Sofitel Las Angeles at Beverley Hills.
One night we are going to Crypto Arena (5 people) for a game and another night Honda Centre (3 people). We will not have a car. Can anyone suggest the most efficient/cheapest way to get to both places? I did some Uber quotes and they were very costly especially out to Honda Centre.
Prime time shuttles had a reasonable quote (cheaper then the Uber).
Or is there a mode of public transport that you would suggest instead?
Thanks in advance
Traveling from Beverly Hills to both Crypto.com Arena (Downtown LA) and Honda Center (Anaheim) without a car can be challenging, particularly for Honda Center, which is much farther away. Here’s a detailed breakdown of your options, considering efficiency and cost.
Crypto.com Arena (Downtown LA): Located in downtown LA, about 10–12 miles from Beverly Hills.
- Uber/Lyft: Quick and convenient, typically 20–30 minutes depending on traffic. Cost for 5 people may be high, but sharing a larger ride or SUV can help split the cost.
- Public Transport: Metro is a viable option. From Beverly Hills, you can take the Metro Expo Line from Expo/Bundy station or a short bus/Uber to connect to the Metro Purple or Red Line downtown. Total travel time may be 1–1.5 hours. Fares are low (around $1.75 per ride), but transfers can be confusing if unfamiliar with LA transit.
- Shuttle Services: Some private shuttle or van services offer rides from Beverly Hills to Crypto.com Arena, often cheaper than Uber for a group of 5 and less hassle than public transport.
Honda Center (Anaheim): About 30–35 miles southeast of Beverly Hills, making public transit less convenient.
- Uber/Lyft: Direct ride is fast but can be very expensive (possibly $70–100+ one way depending on surge pricing).
- Shuttle Services: Prime Time Shuttles and similar services provide fixed-price rides from LA hotels to Honda Center and back. For 3 people, this may be cheaper than rideshare and less stressful than navigating public transport.
- Public Transit: Possible but complicated. You would need to take Metro lines downtown, then a Metrolink commuter train to Anaheim, followed by local bus or taxi to Honda Center. Total travel time can exceed 2–3 hours each way and requires multiple transfers.
Additional considerations:
- For convenience and reduced stress, especially for Honda Center, a shuttle service or private car is likely the most efficient option.
- For Crypto.com Arena, if you’re comfortable with public transit and want to save money, the Metro is a reasonable choice.
- Check event-day traffic patterns; LA traffic can significantly affect travel times, particularly for evening games.
- Consider booking rides or shuttles in advance to ensure availability and lock in a reasonable price.
In summary, for your group:
- Crypto.com Arena: Metro or short Uber/Lyft ride works well.
- Honda Center: Prime Time Shuttle or similar service is the most practical and cost-effective choice for 3 people, avoiding complex public transit and potential traffic delays.
This approach balances efficiency, comfort, and cost without having a car.
