Getting married in Los Angeles, need a couple of tips

We are planning a wedding in Los Angeles. My husband grew up there, and that's where his parents still live. The two of us met and lived in San Diego, where I'm from, and plan to move to LA after the wedding. Sorry for the long intro. We could use some wedding-planning-related recommendations. Actually, pretty much any, because most of his friends/cousins in LA are not married yet. So, if you know of a bridal boutique with romantic, boho dresses under $1.5k, please share.

Also, we will book a tour of this property https://breezit.com/blomgren-ranch It's beautiful, and it says Spanish is one of the languages spoken. I'm so impatient, I have to ask - has anyone been there and could share a first-hand experience? It would mean a lot. Google tells me it's around a 45-minute ride from LAX. Can anyone from Santa Clarita more or less confirm this?

Basically, if you got married in LA fairly recently, feel free to share anything you think might be of help - the photographer, the decor... Thank you so much!

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! Planning a wedding in Los Angeles can be a fun adventure, given the wide variety of venues, vendors, and styles the city offers. Since you’re interested in a romantic, boho style dress under $1.5k, there are several bridal boutiques where you can find something beautiful without breaking the bank. Some options include:

  • Lovely Bride LA – Known for unique and bohemian-inspired gowns, with a range of price points under $1.5k.
  • BHLDN (Bespoke) – Offers romantic, ethereal, and boho styles, with many dresses in the sub-$1.5k range.
  • The Dress Theory – Carries offbeat and modern boho dresses, often at a more affordable price point.
  • Claire’s Couture (Los Angeles area) – Specializes in custom and ready-to-wear dresses with a romantic, whimsical touch.

Regarding the Blomgren Ranch property: it’s located near Santa Clarita and yes, the drive from LAX is roughly 45–50 minutes without heavy traffic, which is typical for LA. Spanish being spoken there is a plus if any of your guests prefer that. While there aren’t a ton of widely published reviews online, local wedding forums suggest that the ranch is beautiful, well-maintained, and provides a serene backdrop with lots of greenery and open space – perfect for a romantic or rustic wedding aesthetic.

Here are some general LA wedding tips based on recent experiences from couples who married in the area:

  • Book your photographer early. Popular LA wedding photographers fill up fast, especially for weekend dates. Consider checking out vendors like KT Merry Photography, Erich McVey, or Myke & Tania for boho-romantic styles.
  • Consider hiring a day-of coordinator, even if you are planning much yourself. LA traffic and vendor logistics can get complicated quickly.
  • Decor and floral styling: LA has great options for romantic and boho floral arrangements. Look into Twig & Twine, The Bouquet Shop, or Monarch Events for inspiration and execution.
  • Transportation: For guests coming from the airport, consider shuttles or rideshare coordination to avoid LA traffic stress. LAX to Santa Clarita can vary from 45 minutes to 1.5 hours depending on the time of day.
  • Venues: If Blomgren Ranch is your choice, schedule a site visit during the actual time of your ceremony to check lighting, parking, and sunset views. It’s common for LA venues to have restrictions or preferred vendor lists, so double-check.

For additional inspiration, Instagram and Pinterest are very helpful for seeing how LA couples style boho weddings. Also, ask your photographer if they can recommend florists, stylists, and rentals – local vendors often have trusted networks that make planning smoother.

Finally, enjoy the process! Even if most of your friends and family haven’t planned weddings, LA offers so many beautiful options that you can create a day uniquely yours, blending your San Diego roots with LA elegance.
