Louis Vanich Cafe, a Thai restaurant that has more than just a great atmosphere

Praew went to try Louis Vanich restaurant in the Banthat Thong area. The atmosphere is amazing! 🏠✨ The shop is a clean, airy white shophouse, but it also has some vintage props, reminiscent of your mother's childhood. As soon as you enter, you feel warm and fuzzy, like a friend's home who's cooked delicious food and invited you to eat.

The staff are lovely, always smiling, and never grumpy. Even when the place is crowded, they still take care of you. 🫶

🍴 About the food

I have to say that this place has so many amazing dishes, it's hard to choose. However, I've tried several dishes.
• Stir-fried Scallops with Instant Noodles — This is the real deal! Large, firm scallops, fresh, and not fishy, stir-fried with fragrant instant noodles. The flavor is just the right amount of spicy and not greasy at all. It's absolutely amazing.
• Stir-fried Liver with Garlic — The liver is cooked perfectly, not tough, not fishy, and the garlic is incredibly fragrant. This is amazing with hot rice.
• Fried Squid Eggs in Fish Sauce — Huge, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Delicious even on its own, but dipping it in the seafood sauce is a perfect match.
• Minced Pork in Plum Soup — The clear broth is incredibly refreshing. The slight sourness from the plum complements the minced pork perfectly. Eating it hot is absolutely amazing.
• Stir-fried Sea Bass with Chili and Salt — Spicy, salty, and incredibly fragrant with chili and salt. You'll finish your plate of rice without even realizing it.
• Volcanic Longan Juice — A must-order drink for every table! The longan is perfectly sweet, not cloyingly sweet, and it perfectly balances the flavor of the food.

🕑 Time & Atmosphere

The restaurant opens around noon until late (almost 11 PM). However, if you go in the evening, it can get very crowded, sometimes requiring a queue. If you don't want to wait, I recommend arriving early or ordering delivery.

Praew thinks the price is okay, but not too cheap. But considering the quality of the food and the atmosphere, it's a great value, with fresh ingredients and a truly satisfying experience.
