Day 1: Interweaving Zen and Nature
The first day's journey starts at Nanzoin Temple. This small temple in Sasaguri Town is known for its tranquility and spirituality. Surrounded by mountains, it exudes a Zen atmosphere. As you step into the temple, the huge reclining Buddha statue comes into view. The golden Buddha body shines brightly in the sun, bringing a shocking visual experience. I strolled along the quiet path, listening to the birds singing in the woods and the gurgling streams, as if I was in the embrace of nature. Every corner of the temple exudes tranquility, making people unable to help but slow down and feel a moment of peace of mind. In the evening, the mountain breeze blew on my face, and the sky gradually darkened, allowing me to leave with a full sense of Zen.
Day 2: Fukuoka’s Urban Charm
On the second day, we chose to go deeper into the city of Fukuoka to explore the modernity and tradition of this city. I came to Ohori Park and strolled along the lake, admiring the elegant Japanese garden and the reflection of the lake. Afterwards, we visited the Fukuoka Museum of Art, where the art collection showcases a diverse cultural landscape. In the afternoon, I walked into Kawabata-dori shopping street, felt the bustling city life, tasted authentic Hakata ramen and snacks, and experienced the unique human touch of Fukuoka. As night falls, standing by the port of Hakata and gazing at the twinkling lights in the distance brings this fulfilling two-day journey to a perfect end.
