Snow is a rare event! But once it snows, it feels like you've traveled back to Lin'an, right!✨ The combination of traditional Chinese architecture and snow is simply perfect, instantly capturing the unique poetic charm of Jiangnan√ These photos were taken during the heavy snow in 2018 at Lingyin Temple, Yongfu Temple, Longjing Village, and West Lake. The feeling of walking through snow to find plum blossoms is truly there! So ethereal and quietly beautiful it brings tears to your eyes😭
🏯【Lingyin Temple & Yongfu Temple】
Address: No. 1 Fayun Lane, Xihu District, Hangzhou
Opening Hours: 7:00-18:00
Tickets: Lingyin Temple 30 RMB (need to buy Feilai Peak Scenic Area ticket 45 RMB first)
The temples after snow are stunning💥
• Between red walls and white snow, the statues wear "snow hats" that are both adorable and sacred
• Bamboo groves bowed under the snow, newly bloomed plum blossoms frozen like candied hawthorns
• Cats huddle in the pavilion to keep warm🐱
• Steps are icy and slippery, walk carefully
• From the highest point overlooking: yellow walls, black tiles + red plum blossoms in the snow = a breathtaking ink painting
🌳【Courtyard Snow Viewing Guide】
Yongfu Temple’s layered courtyards are perfect for photos:
1. Square in front of the Mahavira Hall: capture ginkgo leaves falling with snow
2. Tea room corridor: watch snow fall on the dry landscape garden
3. Highest platform: get a panoramic view of snowy Jiangnan
ps. Remember to wear non-slip shoes!
🌊【West Lake & Baoshi Hill Exclusive Activities】
• Broken Bridge with remaining snow: a classic among classics
• Baoshi Hill route: Agate Temple ruins → Great Buddha Temple ruins (the ginkgo snow carpet is amazing)
• Gushan Road: the snowy long causeway is super romantic
• Huxin Pavilion: the true "a spot of snow in the lake’s heart"
⚠️TIPS:
1. Keep warm! My scarf even froze that day🧊
2. Bring heat packs + non-slip shoe covers
3. Best time: within 2 hours after the snow stops
4. With global warming now, being able to see snow is truly a blessing~
