With your limited time in Hong Kong—arriving early afternoon on June 10 and leaving evening on June 12—you can have a compact but enjoyable experience focusing on iconic sights, easy transportation, and a few local experiences.
Hotels: For convenience and sightseeing access:
- Tsim Sha Tsui area: Great for harbor views, proximity to the Star Ferry, shopping, and restaurants. Examples include the Kowloon Shangri-La, The Mira Hong Kong, or Hyatt Regency Hong Kong, Tsim Sha Tsui.
- Central/Hong Kong Island: Good for quick access to Victoria Peak, Lan Kwai Fong nightlife, and ferries. Examples include the Upper House, JW Marriott, or Island Shangri-La.
Suggested itinerary:
- June 10 (arrival afternoon): After airport transfer, check in and explore Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade. Walk along the Avenue of Stars for views of Victoria Harbour. Take a short Star Ferry ride to Central for evening skyline views.
- June 11: Take the Peak Tram to Victoria Peak in the morning. Walk around Sky Terrace for panoramic views. Head to Central and Sheung Wan to explore Man Mo Temple and local streets. Consider an afternoon tram or walk through Mid-Levels Escalator area. Evening: visit Temple Street Night Market or Lan Kwai Fong for dining.
- June 12 (departure day): Morning visit to Wong Tai Sin Temple or Chi Lin Nunnery and Nan Lian Garden in Kowloon. Early lunch at a local dim sum restaurant. Return to hotel, pick up luggage, and head to airport for 7pm flight.
Ferry trips:
- Star Ferry: Quick, scenic, and inexpensive between Tsim Sha Tsui and Central/Admiralty.
- Optional sightseeing ferry: Victoria Harbour evening cruise to see skyline from water.
Tips:
- Use Octopus Card for convenient public transport (MTR, buses, ferries).
- Plan travel time carefully; June can be warm and humid, carry water and sun protection.
- If you want a local experience, try street food stalls or dai pai dong-style eateries.
This itinerary balances iconic attractions, scenic views, and manageable walking distances, making it suitable for a first-time, short stay in Hong Kong.
