If you’re heading to Hohhot, don’t miss the Inner Mongolia Museum 内蒙古博物院it’s free, informative, and beautifully curated!
💡 Transport Tips
🚇 Take Metro Line 1 and get off at Hohhot East Station 呼和浩特东站, NOT “Inner Mongolia Museum Station” (name not updated yet!).
📍 A quick 10-min taxi from the high-speed rail station or airport gets you there easily.
🚌 Buses 2, 5, 12, 80, 98, 100, 113, or 301 also stop nearby.
🧳 Luggage Storage
There’s free locker service at the entrance—perfect for travelers with suitcases.

The museum spans 5 main themes:

Start from the 3rd floor where most exhibits are located—less crowded and great for photos.
2nd floor can get packed, especially with kids.
You will need prior booking is required to visit the Inner Mongolia Museum (新馆).
