📍Destination:
Tō-ji Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is famous for its striking five-story pagoda—the tallest wooden tower in Japan. Located just a 15-minute walk from Kyoto Station, the temple is rich in history and spirituality, dating back to the 8th century. Inside the Kondo and Lecture Hall, you’ll find impressive statues of Buddhist deities.
💰Rough Budget:
Entry costs around ¥500. Add about ¥200–¥300 for transport if you’re not walking from Kyoto Station.
💡#1 Travel Tip:
Visit on the 21st of any month to catch the popular Kobo-san flea market on the temple grounds.
🚨Travel Hack:
Go early in the morning for peaceful photos of the pagoda without tourist crowds.
