Gamla Stan
This area is said to be the birthplace of Stockholm, and the city was founded in the 13th century.
"Gamla Stan" means "old town" in Swedish. With colorful buildings, narrow cobblestone alleys, and steep staircases, just walking through this picturesque area is a joy. With squares, the Royal Palace, and churches, it's a cityscape that's enjoyable just to stroll through.
And this is actually the kind of townscape that's often described, even within Europe, as being "like Disney World."
🏰 Features
• Narrow cobblestone streets remaining from the Middle Ages
• Colorful buildings painted in yellow, orange, and red
• Streetscapes reminiscent of a storybook or anime setting
• Historic area home to the Royal Palace (Stockholm Palace)
📸 Disney-inspired features
• Houses with fairy-tale-like colors
• The lantern lights create a magical atmosphere at night
• Walking through the alleys often evokes the worlds of "Rapunzel" and "Beauty and the Beast"
In fact, some tourists feel as if they've wandered into a Disney movie when they walk through Gamla Stan. #TravelWithPochiKatsu
