Universal Studios Beijing 1-Day Tour Guide

  • Number of days: 1 day
  • Time: December
  • Average cost: 1,000 yuan
  • With whom: and friends

This year, our company chose a one-day trip to Universal Studios for our team-building project. I finally had the chance to check it out. I recommend coming midweek because there are relatively fewer people (I mean relatively). If your budget allows, it's best to buy an Unlimited Pass. ~~

The price of the Unlimited Pass to Universal Studios varies daily, being cheaper midweek and more expensive on weekends. The price of the Unlimited Pass on the day I bought it was 350 yuan, which allows you to ride each attraction once. There are also Unlimited Passes for just one attraction, which cost 180 yuan. I feel that the 350 yuan one is the most cost-effective. ~~

Yousutong has a separate queue. Most of the projects do not need to spend time queuing. A small number of popular projects have queues of more than 20 minutes. Overall, it saves a lot of time and does not need to endure the cold in winter. That day, I played all the projects I wanted to play. I played the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Kingdom Tour twice. Jurassic World Isla Nublar

Jurassic World: The Adventure

Recommendation Rating: ★★★★★

I think this attraction is the most fun on the Jurassic World theme island and it was the first attraction I tried that day. Come get up close and personal with your favorite dinosaurs and embark on a Jurassic World adventure.

Jurassic Soar

Recommendation Index: ★★★

An aerial tour of Jurassic Isla Nublar. The whole process feels like you can see some nice scenery, but the project is not very exciting.

Transformers Base

Decepticon Roller Coaster

Recommendation Index: ★★★★★

This is the most exciting project in Universal Studios Beijing. It took me a lot of courage to go on it. There is no slow climb process like other roller coasters. It basically launches directly, and then there are several big flips and loops. It is very exciting.

Transformers: Battle for the Allspark

Recommendation: ★★★★★

A 5D experience that requires 3D glasses. I've also tried this at Universal Studios Los Angeles, and it's very similar and just as fun. Especially when the fireballs are spraying towards you, the heat wave feels so realistic.

Transformers: Legends Live

Recommendation: ★★★

The internet celebrity Megatron, many people specifically line up to have a face-to-face battle with Megatron.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

This magical town feels like a magical book world, transporting you to a magical book world in a split second. Plus, many visitors are dressed in their respective college uniforms, transforming everyone into amateur NPCs, which makes the experience even more exciting.

Harry Potter and the Forbidden Kingdom

Recommendation: ★★★★★

A must-try attraction, and one of the longest queues at Universal Studios. This is where the Premium Pass comes in handy, significantly saving time in line. This is my favorite attraction and the only one I did twice during my day at Universal Studios.

Flight of the Hippogriff

Recommendation: ★★★

A completely unexciting mini roller coaster, not highly recommended. The ride itself was incredibly short, and it was over before I could react.

Hogwarts Castle Nighttime Illumination Celebration

Recommendation: ★★★★★

A must-see attraction, starting at 6pm, with each show lasting six minutes, and about fifteen minutes between each. The light show is incredibly dreamy, and I couldn't stop taking photos. Universal Beijing Resort Universal Beijing Resort

Minions Land

The entire park is family-friendly, with no particularly thrilling rides, making it suitable for children.

Despicable Me Minions Mayhem: Similar to a 4D movie, it perfectly recreates the film's plot.

Moe Roller Coaster

Recommendation: ★★

Compared to the Decepticon Roller Coaster, this one is probably for kids. It's not thrilling at all and is over in 20 seconds. It's okay for children, but not so much for adults.

Sing! Tour

Recommendation: ★★

The stage effects are okay, but overall not very interesting. If you're in a hurry, you can skip it.

Kung Fu Panda Land of Awesomeness

Like Minions Land, this park is also very suitable for children. While there aren't any particularly thrilling rides, the environment and atmosphere are very well-crafted. This park is indoors, somewhat reminiscent of a Chinatown abroad.

Kung Fu Panda: Journey of the Dragon Warrior

Recommendation Rating: ★★★

A very gentle indoor water ride, with scenes and plot points from the movie on both sides. Sitting in the first row might cause some splashing, but it's not excessive, so don't worry about getting wet.

Hollywood

Untamed

Recommendation index: ★★★★

A performance worth seeing. The performance schedule can be found on the "Universal Resorts" app. The lighting effects of the entire performance are very good and very immersive.

Restaurant Recommendation:

You can eat at Universal Studios either inside or outside the park.

I ate lunch inside the park to save time.

In the evening, I ate at a restaurant on CityWalk outside the park. CityWalk has a wide selection of restaurants and offers great value.

Park Restaurants

Three Broomsticks Restaurant:

Recommendation Rating: ★★★★★

A must-try restaurant. We recommend going between 11:00 and 11:30 pm; arriving later will result in longer lines. The restaurant is spacious, so most of the waiting time is spent ordering. Once you order, just find a seat and someone will bring it to you. For larger groups, I recommend ordering the Gourmet Feast Set, which serves four to six people. The roast chicken and spareribs are also very delicious. The grapefruit peach oolong tea is also very tasty for drinks. The Butterbeer is available both hot and cold, but it looks better when taken cold. If you're willing to spend a little more, there's a souvenir cup version of Butterbeer, which you can take away after drinking.

Luoxia Restaurant:

Recommendation Index: ★★★

Sunset seafood rice and rainbow shrimp dumplings are both their specialties, Chinese fusion dishes. It's a very romantic restaurant with a great atmosphere.

Universal Studios CityWalk

Jumbo Seafood:

Recommendation Rating: ★★★★★

Highly recommend this restaurant, great value for money, and the food is superb. I recommend trying their Bak Kut Teh, Singapore Nyonya Fried Rainbow Snapper, and Seafood Tofu Pot. You can order anything you want without disappointment.

In addition, I'm also very interested in Chocolate Restaurant and Hammond Restaurant, and I plan to try them next time I go there. Universal Beijing Resort Universal Beijing Resort

Must-See Tips:

1. Download the Universal Beijing Resort app in advance. You can purchase tickets and Premium Passes directly within the app. Make sure to book your Premium Pass as early as possible, as they might sell out if you're late. I went in December and bought my Premium Pass a week in advance, while others tried to buy theirs two or three days in advance and found they were sold out.

2. Remember to bring your ID, as you'll need it to enter. Alternatively, you can submit a photo in advance via the app and use facial recognition on the day of entry.

3. If you're visiting in winter, it's best to bring a thermos and warm water, as it can be very cold outdoors all day.

4. Bring a power bank, as taking photos while enjoying the rides can drain your battery, especially in winter.

5. Enjoy the attractions first and then shop for souvenirs at the Universal Studios Hollywood. Otherwise, carrying them all day is a chore.

6. Wear comfortable and warm shoes. 30,000 steps a day is no big deal.
