May wind blows the wheat waves, and I spend wonderful time with my bestie in Lijiang

Looking back on the past year, it was a year of stumbling and falling, or a year of being willful. Perhaps it was this opportunity that subtly changed my usual view of things, and I seemed to be braver to make decisions, whether it was to pause or to move on.

There are always many uncertainties in life. We haven't been together since we graduated from college. We have been chatting on WeChat very frequently recently. We both have a lot to say. Chatting on the phone is no longer enough for us. We must meet in person and talk all night long.

We said why not have a party this weekend, and we left immediately, bought tickets, and went to Lijiang.

In fact, we are already very familiar with Lijiang. We stayed here for four years during college. This time, we wanted to relive the memories of that time, walk through the ancient city again, and go to the restaurant we ate at before. The mood has changed.

The wide cobblestone streets, lazy afternoons, and slow-paced lifestyle... these are the things that have always kept me longing for Lijiang.

Compared to the bustling and bustling Dayan Old Town, Baisha is much quieter. Baisha Ancient Town is the least bustling and least commercialized of Lijiang's three ancient towns. However, dating back to the Song Dynasty, it was the ancient capital of the Naxi people and the heart of Lijiang. Even with the passage of time, Baisha remains the most authentic ancient town embodying the Naxi heritage. A few years ago, Baisha Ancient Town was inhabited solely by the local Naxi people. However, it's now undergoing gradual renovations, making it a more relaxing and comfortable destination for visitors. A few days before our departure, a friend in Lijiang sent us a photo of a wheat field beneath the snow-capped mountains. Seeing the gentle, tranquil scene of waves of wheat swaying in the breeze was truly captivating. So, a few days later, we decided to follow our friend's location and take some soothing portraits. This wheat field was actually discovered by our friend while flying a drone. It's located not far behind the internet-famous coffee shop "Xiaodaojia." Because each field is protected by shrubs, we initially didn't see the wheat fields we were looking for. Just as we were debating whether to give up or continue further, we encountered an elderly woman climbing a dirt slope to her field. After explaining that we were only there to take photos and avoid damaging the crops, she agreed to let us join her.

The moment I stepped onto the ridge of the field, I found myself in the midst of the wheat fields. The sight of the vast, lush green wheat fields swaying in the wind, against the backdrop of blue sky, white clouds, and snow-capped mountains, was breathtakingly beautiful.

The entire wheat field was swept by a gentle breeze, creating ripples like waves on the sea. Closing my eyes, I felt the gentle breeze on my face, almost smelling the gentle scent of the wind blowing through the fields. If I could describe the feeling of "wind," it would probably be the image of the wheat fields stirred by the wind.

There was no noisy sound, only the sound of wheat waves and the Naxi folk song hummed by the old lady in the field. At this moment, my mood can't help but be as open as this wheat field. Thinking back on it now, it still feels super healing!

Baisha Ancient Town is dotted with small shops, featuring interesting ethnic handicraft workshops and some trendy cafes. If you have the time, I highly recommend finding a small shop and learning how to make a local handicraft from a master. It's so fascinating just thinking about it.

Sit down at any roadside cafe, sip a cup of coffee, watch the tourists come and go, listen to the locals hawking their wares, and in this slow-paced town, you'll feel like you've been frozen in time amidst this beautiful scenery. The ancient town's leisurely and beautiful laziness can only be fully experienced from this quiet spot beneath Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.

No matter how plain and slovenly we dress on a daily basis, when we go out with our besties, we always dress up to look our best. We make sure to take beautiful photos during our trip and leave a mark in the photo contest on WeChat Moments.

In our daily lives, all kinds of trivial matters occupy our time, and we really don’t have time to spare. How long has it been since we dressed up properly and enjoyed some beautiful time together?

Come, let me take your picture!

Dongba Valley Health and Wellness Town at the foot of the snow-capped mountains. I've never been here before and feel like I missed out. There are white buses, a pink castle, and a large lawn where we can run around freely. The angle for taking photos here is very good. You can face the snow-capped mountains, listen to the wind by the lake, and enjoy the slow Instagram style.

The entire scenic area is very large, with outdoor performances and horseback riding. You could spend a whole day there, but it was too late so we went back.

We had dinner at Yunxueli Ancient Town.

 It's near Red Sun Square. Snow Mountain Fish is their signature dish.

The fresh pepper chicken is also very good~

One bowl of shredded chicken rice noodles is not enough~

Lishui Jinsha

After dinner, with nothing to do, we went to see Lishui Jinsha. We had never been to a city to see an indoor show before, and this time we had been to many places, so we decided to watch one to kill time. It would start at 7:30, so it was still early after the show and we could sit in the pubs nearby. We also enjoyed the ethnic performances, with many of the young actors delivering brilliant performances. The costumes and makeup were all very professional, and some scenes were particularly memorable.

At the end of the Wa ethnic group's Haoyangge, a group of girls throw a young man into a pond, and he actually catches a fish. The scene is so unexpected that it leaves one breathtakingly in awe.

We have cried, been afraid, and been exhausted along the way, but more often than not, we have walked every step of the way with a smile.

We believe that a happy life is when we can find what we want most in our lifetime.

Some people like the regular daily routine of tea and meals;

Some people like the warmth of a big family;

Some people like challenges and adventures;

And we want to embrace the thousands of ways of life in the world.
